Types of installation


Stone tiles can be installed by the adhesive manufacturer or from the building code and they can anchor depending on their size of the piece and application. Different method and adhesive can be used, if tiles are installed for indoor and outdoor. To install the slabs on the fireplace, it is recommended to use mechanical anchors with the adhesive for the vertical pieces. When horizontal pieces are installed for the countertops, it is recommended to use a non staining adhesive. The pieces should be jointed using proper material and color. It is essential that the sample of grout should be approved to avoid problems. The layer should be perfectly cleaned before applying the grout material.

Steps involved in a countertop installation


• Sketch the countertop by allowing to hangover on the top of the cabinets. It includes backsplashes and any cutout dimension. Additionally choose the finished edge for any visible edge of the countertop and backsplash. When countertops are sketched, the availability of the size should also be considered. Location of the layer is also the important consideration.

• With the material alternative and sketch, the stone fabricators should be contacted to quote them the delivery time. The quote should include the templates, fabrication and installation prices.

• The fabrication usually requires some deposit to start the job. The material should be approved by the customer, before the payment is made. When inspecting the stone, see to that any variation, stone imperfection, any particular marking on the slab.

• Templates can also be fabricated by the fabricator and the installer. To make accurate templates, cabinets should be installed and fixed already.

• The stones will be pieced by the fabricators and the edges will be finished as per the order. Any changes will result in extra charges.

• The stones will be installed and delivered by the fabricator and installer in the site. Fabricators and installers require payment upon satisfactory installation.
